Since Cuthbertson High School and Middle School opened in fall 2009, the band program has not only grown tremendously but also received many accolades and recognition. Our marching band, the Mighty Marching Cavaliers, has grown to six times its original size in just three years and earned numerous awards! The entire band program in grades 6-12 has opportunities to participate in local, state, district, regional and national competitions, festivals and other events. These opportunities serve to enrich each student and shine positive light on our schools and community.
Expenses for instruments, marching and concert band uniforms, music, transporting equipment, and travel—none of which is covered by our allocated school budget—present a tremendous challenge. The bulk of our efforts are supported by parents and the fundraising efforts of the Cuthbertson Band Booster organization. Cuthbertson’s district is defined as the most economically diverse in all of Union County, which directly impacts band family’s ability to contribute financially to the band’s needs.

Partnership with local business owners is vital to maintaining the high-quality program and experience for our students that they have worked so hard to achieve.
