Todd Ebert is the Director of Bands at Cuthbertson High School, Waxhaw, NC, having served in this capacity since the school’s opening in 2009.

Under Mr. Ebert’s baton, the Cuthbertson ensembles have experienced growth and visibility through adjudicated performances all the while achieving consistent superior ratings.  At the high school level, the program has grown from its initial 30 members and now features two concert bands, the ‘Mighty Marching Cavalier’ marching band, jazz band, indoor percussion and winterguard units, and an innovative rock band.  A large percentage of the band students participate in additional honor band clinics throughout the Southeastern states including Georgia, South Carolina, and our home state of North Carolina.

Mr. Ebert has been teaching public school for 13 years and each of his ensembles have experienced growth and increased performance opportunities. In 2002, his McIntosh County Academy marching band received the Class “A” Music Performance caption award at the Bands of America Florida Regional.  In 2005, his concert band was invited to represent the State of Georgia in New York, NY, performing a commissioned piece for the Veterans of Foreign Wars event marking the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II.  In 2011, the Cuthbertson Mighty Marching Cavaliers performed in the Thanksgiving Day Parade of Bands at the Walt Disney World® Resort.  Over the course of his thirteen-year teaching career, Mr. Ebert has directed ensemble performances in New York, NY, Washington, DC, Orlando, FL, New Orleans, LA, Atlanta, GA, Jacksonville, AL, Savannah, GA, and Williamsburg, VA, and Charlotte, NC.

Mr. Ebert holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University, Savannah, GA as well as a Master of Arts degree in Music Education from Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, NC.  While at Western Carolina, Mr. Ebert served as a teaching assistant with the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band, the Wind Ensemble, and the Concert Band, as well as assisted the teaching of beginning and advanced conducting classes for undergraduates.  He holds professional associations in the National Association for Music Educators, the North Carolina Music Educators Association, Union County Bandmasters Association, Pi Kappa Lambda, and is a faculty advisor of the Cuthbertson Tri-M Music Honor Society chapter.
